New building for a 3-star Hotel of 336 rooms and parking located on Avinguda de la Granvia de L’Hospitalet 155, in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. It is an isolated building of 12 floors above grade and 2 below grade, respecting boundaries separations.

The plan shape looks like an S shape, with its longitudinal axis aligned to the North-South orientation. In this way, the building overlooks the Avinguda de la Granvia obliquely, facing the traveler who arrives from the outskirts through this main artery that links Barcelona with the airport.

In order to lighten the façade of a building that could have been quite compact due to its proportions, a glass curtain wall with an aluminum structure and a solar protection of horizontal slats on the main facades (East and West) has been proposed. The curtain wall gives lightness to the whole and the system of horizontal slats of irregular section provides dynamism, creating an iconic element in one of the access points to Barcelona through the Avinguda de la Granvia de L’Hospitalet. The façade of the ground floor is more permeable. It consists of a glass enclosure with aluminum joinery, to emphasize the permeability and connection between the interior of the hotel and its private outdoor space.
