L’Hospitalet. 28th October 2006

Presentation of the urban planning for the Rambla del Mig

L’Hospitalet will earn a new residential façade.

The City council keeps developing the “Pla de renovació d’àrees industrials de l’Hospitalet (PRAIH)” with the presentation of the first phase of the project for the urban improvement of the Rambla del Mig. The site shares a border with the Avinguda del Carrilet, the Avinguda Pau Casals, the Carrer Cobalt and the Rambla Marina, with an area of 40.427m2. The urban planning promoted by Layetana Immobiliaria and ordered to Ribas & Ribas Architects, plans the construction of many housing buildings, a new road and a green area.

The first stage of the “Pla de millora urbana de la rambla del Mig” plans building 622 housing, from which 202 (the 30%) will be of official protection; 1.767m2 of urban equipments, and more than 12.000m2 of green areas, improving the urban look of the connection between the central district of L’Hospitalet and Bellvitge.

The Municipal Mayor, Celestino Corbacho, added that L’Hospitalet bets on an urban transformation that will end up in a social transformation, combining either official protection and conventional housing. This combination reflects the social reality of a city where the construction is not based on incomes or economic status.
